Name: Ross Location: Las Vegas, Nevada, United States Gender: Male
Interests: Most of my interests revolve around the universe of gaming and movie-watching. Within that universe, you may find things like Final Fantasy, Indiana Jones, Solid Snake, a bus that can't go below 50 mph without exploding, and the web series Red vs Blue. Such a great universe... Anyway, I also really like listening to music (even though most of the music I like either comes from games or movies), but as far as actual categories of music are concerned, you could easily say I like listening to Classical and Jazz tunes. I also really love suspense, inside and outside of games and movies. There's something else, but...nah...I really shouldn't. I should probably list the Air Force in here somewhere, seeing as they own me for four years, but it's not more 'interesting' than it is 'new' or 'pretty lonely' so it won't be bragged about here. Expertise: Video games, of course! It runs in my blood to kick arsenal at these things. And all kinds, too! RPGs, FPSs, Strategy, Adventure, Action, and even the Dancing kind! I also have proven many small (and some large) times in the past to be an expert at having almost unhealthy amounts of good luck. But hey, if I didn't, what sort of Leprechaun would I be? I'd also like to mention that small arms marksmanship is submerged in my zone of expertise. I've got the ribbon to prove it.

| Good lord, it's been a while (but not as long a while since AARON'S last post, at least). Reasons why? Several.
1) I've been switched to the Mids shift at work (11:30PM - 7:00AM)
2) World of Warcraft consumed me for quite a bit, and if you didn't hear, Sephiross GOWAASSSH'D level 60.
(Samuel, read #3 in its ENTIRETY before pulling one of your classic "What?! You're just delusional...etc" craps)
3) Final Fantasy XII released, and may end up being the best one, PROVIDING THAT THE REST OF THE GAME PLAYS ITS CARDS RIGHT. I'm not saying it's better than FFVII YET...just that it's POSSIBLE...
4) Nate's been home for a month and a half-ish now, which provided some good times again.
5) Last but not least, friggin' Guitar Hero 2 came out, and it's the most awesome ever. I'm not exaggerating. The set list beats the poop out of the list in the first game by far, and there's tons more. Plus, it's a lot harder, though I did manage to beat it on Expert...now comes Easy, Medium, and then all the Bonus songs...all the while making sure to 5-star everything. Plus, this sequel actually takes note/records/leaves evidence of any time you beat a song 100% correct, which the first game did not, making perfect note-playing not something you really wanted to shoot for. Jordan sucks.
No cool pictures this time. Sorry.
And now, it's back to rockin'! Can't wait to see you all in December!!

| Yeah...that's right. Dirge is mine.
So far, I've played through about 5 or 6 of the 12 chapters in the main game, and I'm thoroughly satisfied and awed by it. Though, in comparison to other FPS games, it's not the best 'shooter' of a game, but that's not what I bought this for. I bought it because it's another installment in the FF7 saga, because it's the story of an extremely badass character (whose badassness I had not really noticed until trailers (and eventually the movie) for Advent Children), because it's a quite different take on a Final Fantasy game, and because it just looked fuckin' cool! Please note that all of the above are 100% (if not more) true, and it will be my sole gaming focus until I have exhausted it. Customizing my handguns and rifles is interesting. Not only to I get to make them look cooler in different ways, but preset them and quick-draw them to best suit whatever crazyness of a situation I happen to find myself in. So far, the only FF7 (playable) characters I have run into are Yuffie and Cait Sith. (Just kidding, guys. No one likes you!) Actually, Yuffie's been rockin' it for just about all of her screen time, and I experienced a little MGS Tactical Espionage Action-style sequence with Cait Sith for about five minutes. In addition, Cait Sith is no longer riding an overstuffed Mog. He's just his small, black cat self this time. Nevertheless, it was a sneaking mission. As far as non-playable entities go, I've run into Reeve, sightings of Lucrecia, and a very large, blue-haired monstrosity who, I swear on all things, has to be come inside joke between the crew/homage to Vulcan Raven from Metal Gear Solid. Don't beleive me? Don't know what I'm talking about? See for yourself:
Vulcan Raven

Azul

Look at that matching posture. Not to mention some of the dialogue that Azul has spoken is almost verbatum something that sounds exactly like a line or lines that Vulcan Raven has also said. The only difference I can tell is that Raven is carrying the main gun assembly that is carried on an F-16, and Azul is using a tank cannon. Coincidence that these two are so alike? I think not.
Last but not least, I've caught a very flashy flashback lasting about four seconds or so, starring my favorite, Sephiroth. Although he is the most badass of all in gaming history, it is my desire NOT to see him appear in this game as a final, or even near-final, boss. Though it was rockin' awesome to see him unsheath his wonderous sword in order to bring a climax to the movie, I think he should stay out of this one, for Dirge is a story about Vincent. And as any Final Fantasy 7 fan would know, it was Cloud who had a personal feud with Sephiroth. However, Sephiroth seemed to have a personal feud with the entire Planet, and I'm on the Planet, so maybe I'm asking for too much not to have him wreck my world by the end of this. As far as old, familiar locations go, I've only managed to tread the streets and alleys of Kalm, and the spooky, abandoned (or so I thought!) ShinRa mansion in Nibelheim. To get there, I did get to use the underground sewer system connecting the old reactor to the basement catacombish section of the mansion, but I whooped the ass of everyone in my way on that route. On a final note, this game has some sweet ass music. Needless to say, you will most likely see tracks from this beauty on my iPod at some point in the future. But that won't be all the way until December, because, you know, it would be just horrible if anyone made their way out here before then... :) Oh well.
On a final and completely unrelated note, I have finally found my real father.

Look at those smiles. Those are smiles of true happiness. Very similar to the one I've been wearing since I placed Dirge into my PS2. Only difference is that smiling with SSgt Talamantez (Taz) didn't cause me to need a change of pants. Dirge did. Twice.

| Not yet, Snake!
It's not over yet!!!
Finally! My computer has been resurrected by the magic of a 1-year Warranty. Once again I surf the tides of the web to download music, talk to people, and take care of a bunch of random stuff.
I managed to knock out Killer 7 for the first time, but two more difficulties remain. I'm currently installing World of Warcraft, and I'm still aching over how low Sephiross has fallen on the military ladder. Not to worry, because it's probably been long enough of a span of non-WoW time, that I'll be addicted to it almost or just as much as I was when I first began. Even after that, I've got Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, Psychonauts, Bard's Tale and Vice City. Not long from now, on August 16th, I'll be in posession of Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus, so I'm pretty much set game-wise. If I'm lucky, that list right there will last me until October when Final Fantasy XII hits shelves, and not long after THAT...I should have information about Wii's release. That's a pre-order which I will jumping on like a horny bunny jumping on another horny bunny.
I know there's a bunch more that I'd like to talk about, but I just can't think of it right now. You'll be sure to see it soon, though...because I'm back!

| (GTA: Vice City, actually)
Well, the Decision One (distributor of the parts to fix my computer) will have a technician at my place on Monday the 17th to get my machine back online. HOPEFULLY, then I'll be up and running. Poor Sephiross is probably well on his way to being demoted to Private...which makes me really sad...
I am having more fun with Vice City than I'd ever imagined. The first time I tried it, I hated it. But now, I just finished GTA3, so I thought I'd try Vice City again, and it's a blast. And since I had so much fun with San Andreas when Aaron brought it to Brandon's once, I ordered an old copy of it offline to complete the series (until #4 is released on PS3, but I'm a year ahead of myself). A lot of the humor for me so far comes from listening to Lazlow on the rock station talk about how cool he is. Killer 7, Psychonauts, and Bard's Tale are also proving to be very entertaining.
Side note. I've forecasted my leave for the holidays to be December 23rd through January 2nd, I believe. So I'll be out for both in one big chunk this time. No more lonely New Year's...that sucked. I'm lucky to have gotten those free days for Christmas last year as it was.
Also, my two ass quadmates moved out, leaving me and one other behind. He's A1C Lee, and he's actually pretty cool, and keeps the quad clean like it should be, not like a shithole as Campbell and Appleton used to have it. However, we got one new one just two days ago, but he's also not half bad. To top it off, they're both fairly nerdish like I, and I was only 15 seconds into a song on Guitar Hero, and there's a knock on my door. I paused it, put the axe down, and opened the door, and the first thing the guy standing there says to me is, "Hey, can I play a round after you?" which came to me as a surprise. Later, he tells me that the entire quad practically right below me on the 2nd floor plays it also, and ends up quoting RvB episodes while sitting around. I have a feeling I'm about to get to know a bunch of people here.
